Lepe Beach in the New Forest is a favourite with locals as well as holiday makers. The iconic Lepe Trees are weather beaten but beautiful. This linocut depicts elements of Lepe that I love including the trees, the water, the timber sea defences, the pebbles as well as the molluscs. The print is diamond shaped to show an appreciation for Lepe, which in my mind is certainly a diamond. The colour selection was chosen to mimic Wedgwood pottery colours – as originally the print was going to be named LepeWood and only later did I change the name to Lepe Trees.
